You may use the above applet to answer the following questions.

(A)Using the applet, set up the circuit with identical bulbs as shown.

  1. What is the relative brightness of both bulbs?
  2. Is the current "used up" by any bulb, or is the current the same in both bulbs?
  3. Based on the applet, what observations can be made about the direction of current flow throughout the circuit?
(B) Now, set up two circuits. The first circuit consist of two bulbs in series, while the second circuit consist of a single bulb.

  1. Which circuit has a brighter bulb?
  2. How does the amount of current flowing through the first circuit compare with that of the second circuit.
  3. By comparing current flow in both circuits and observations made, what can you infer about the current drawn from the battery in both circuits?
